Did you know over 50 million women in the United States will suffer from early menopause or menopause symptoms?
Menopause is defined by not having menstruation (your period) for one year. With this condition comes a whole host of unfavorable conditions such as hot flashes, night sweats, inability to lose weight, weight gain, vaginal dryness, vaginal atrophy and it can even lead to osteoporosis. It usually shows up in women in their late 40’s and can continue well into your senior years.
I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sound like anything I want in my life. Who has time for those symptoms?
What if I told you there was a secret to experiencing bliss in your senior years one that was free from these hormonal conditions. Something that is easy to do and will have a dramatic impact on your quality of life and your health.
Whether you are close to this age or not you will want to do everything you can in your early years to prevent these symptoms from showing up before you are truly ready and if you nurture your hormones right, they might never show up at all.
This secret has everything to do with your hormones and your hormone puzzle.
This secret is called cycle optimizing.
What is cycle optimizing?
It is a functional medicine protocol that allows a woman to partner with her food, fitness, life and health so she can organize and optimize her health and life and she is free from annoying and debilitating symptoms.
How does cycle optimizing work?
It is giving your body everything it needs depending on where you are in your cycle and if you no longer have a cycle then it is nurturing your natural circadian rhythm through the moon cycles.
So how do you implement this new way of living into your life so you can fight off those yucky menopause symptoms and look and feel your best no matter what your age… these are my 4 tips to help you slow down menopause and stop the symptoms.
In my latest book, The hormone puzzle cycle optimizing blueprint, I go through all the steps you need for cycle optimizing your life. Look for it on my website, www.hormonepuzzlesociety.com or on Amazon. (available in March 2020)
1. Proper nutrition and Eating according to your cycle (if you don’t have one use the moon phases).
This is a key change that is necessary to balance out your estrogen and progesterone. Get started with cycle optimizing your diet with a very simple, quick, and easy to follow introductory protocol – focusing first on greens and grains. Layer in the rest of the foods as detailed in my book “The Hormone Puzzle- Cycle Optimizing blueprint” to complete the process.
2. Protein and fat are key.
These are very important as they help you to make enough hormones to feel young and well. Your body is slowing down hormone production so it’s critical you give it all it needs to produce as much as it can at this stage.
3. Take D3 and Evening Primrose Oil.
These are essential for keeping your hormones balanced. These are specifically helpful for the perimenopausal and menopause transition. Evening primrose oil is a source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid that influences prostaglandin synthesis and calms perimenopausal/menopause symptoms.
4. Increase your Zinc intake.
Zinc is bountiful in beans and seeds, however you can also supplement with 50mg a day. Zinc is super important for testosterone production, a vital hormone is soothing the perimenopause process.
Always remember, that once you have the right information about how your body really works, you can start making health choices that finally start to work for you! You can do this – the science of your body is on your side!
