How Fertility Meditation Can Help Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

What is Fertility Meditation?

Meditation helps to quiet your mind and relax your body to keep you calm and improve your overall well being.

Fertility-specific meditation aims to help women to let go of their negative thoughts and have a more positive and hopeful mindset.

Here are some benefits of fertility meditation.

1. Reduced Stress 

Everyone who is TTC might know that the infertility journey is often accompanied by heightened stress levels. High stress levels are linked to poor fertility. Stress negatively affects your egg and sperm quality as well as your conception rates. When you are stressed out  your cortisol levels go up making your hormones go out of balance. Fertility meditation helps to lower your cortisol levels and restore the balance of estrogen and testosterone in your body which improves your chances of conception.

2. Balanced Hormones

In addition to correcting your cortisone levels, fertility meditation makes you release the hormone called DHEA, which prolongs the life of egg cells.

Fertility Meditation also It also improves your sleep quality. Sleep is essential to regularize the release of your luteinizing hormone (LH), which triggers your ovulation.

3. Increase self-compassion

Women who are struggling to conceive often blame themselves for their inability to conceive which can lead to negative self-talk and low self-esteem. Meditation helps people to become gentler with themselves and others because hormones called oxytocin or the happiness/love hormone is released during meditation. This hormone helps increase general positivity levels. 

Trying to conceive can take a toll on your relationship and having a better relationship with yourself ultimately helps you build stronger relationships with other people especially your relationship with your partner.

  2. Visualisations and Mantras for Fertility
  3. Yoga
  4. Hypnotherapy
  5. Writing gratitude 

These are just a few ways that you can practice meditation to improve your fertility. There are also meditation apps that can help you get started with meditation. Start somewhere even by just taking a few minutes alone before your day begins can have a positive impact. Remember that fertility is a result of an optimal body-state and meditation can help achieve that.
