Cycle Optimizing | Ovulation Phase | Phase 3 |

Hey Love! This week we are talking about cycle optimizing and it’s all about that Ovulation phase. This is one of my favorite phases and probably your favorite too.

As you learned last week, cycle optimizing your hormones and adjusting your diet to support fluctuating hormones can be a game changer when it comes to taking charge of your own health and is extremely helpful in diminishing your period symptoms such as –

  • Painful periods
  • Cramping
  • Bloating
  • Headaches
  • Mood swings
  • Any other PMS related symptoms

As well as helping you to balance your hormones and boost your fertility if baby making is in your future.

This will not only make these symptoms go away or greatly diminish it will make you feel and look amazing.

This Ovulation phase is day 15-17 of your 28-day cycle. This can vary based on the length of your cycle which is 28-35 days. This phase is typically 2 weeks after your period.

During this time your estrogen and progesterone are at their peak.

This is the time in your cycle when your cheeks are rosy and if you are single this is the best time to find a mate. Think baboon with their rosy “cheeks”.

This is also the time in your cycle when you are the most fertile and when you can make a baby so depending on your goals you will either want to be trying during this time or what to be abstaining from intercourse.

Food–

This time of your cycle is all about feelings of summer. Think fiber and light as well as foods with high nutrient content to give your body everything it needs for ovulation.

  • Raw juices
  • Fresh vegetables
  • Big salads
  • Smoothies

Foods with high antioxidants counts are going to be key. Eating these foods will help your body move out the excess estrogen

Other good ovulation foods are –

  • Brussel sprouts
  • Fennel Tea
  • Eggs
  • Quinoa
  • Radishes
  • Berries
  • Citrus
  • Papaya

Excess estrogen can have a negative impact on your cycle including breast tenderness and increased spotting. You will also want to eat foods that support the liver to remove the excess estrogen. Some foods that help with this are kale, broccoli, onions, garlic and radishes.

Sometimes this can make some people feel overwhelmed, staying away from estrogen producing foods will help. This is a great time to stop alcohol, caffeine and soy products since these foods make your body make more estrogen.
