I am super excited about today’s topic. We are going to talk about overcoming self doubt And imposter syndrome as a fertility coach. And this is a topic that so many people I hear say that they feel like an imposter. I don’t care if you are brand new in business and today is your first day, or you’ve been in business for years and years.

And it’s something that I (I’m almost 10 years into my practice) and I still have moments of self doubt where I doubt my protocol. I doubt my ability to run my business. I think this was a great month, but what if next month’s not so great?

And it just creeps in and it’s part of being human. It’s part of running a business, but there’s some things that we can do to overcome self doubt and imposter syndrome. And that’s what I’m going to talk about here today.

And again, these are both very common, especially in a field like ours, where helping people with such personal and critical aspects of their lives. It’s, it’s crucial that we get it right. So it’s. It’s normal to have some of these issues, imposter syndrome, have some self doubt creeping in. But we’re going to talk today about what these feelings are, why they occur, and most importantly, how to overcome them.

So let’s get started. So first, I just want to spend a few minutes talking about how to understand self doubt and imposter syndrome. Let’s define what exactly we’re talking about.

What is self doubt?

This is a feeling of uncertainty about your abilities and your decisions. And imposter syndrome takes this even a step further.

It’s the belief that you’re a fraud despite your qualifications or your achievements. And that you will eventually be exposed. These feelings often arise when we’re stepping out of our comfort zones, we’re taking on new challenges, or we’re comparing ourselves to others, which I find a lot of us do that too.

I’m guilty of this as well. And as fertility coaches, we have a great responsibility and influence, which is why these insecurities can become so detrimental to us. So why do we experience these feelings? Well, there’s several factors that contribute to self doubt and imposter syndrome. The first is that many people that go into this field are type A personalities.

They are perfectionists and they have very high expectations. We set high standards for ourselves. Because we want to provide the best care and support for our clients and patients. And this pressure can lead to feelings of inadequacy. We also seem to compare ourselves more than other people in different fields.

In the age of social media, it’s so easy to play that game of comparison.

Some coaches and practitioners seem more successful, they seem more knowledgeable, they have better social media, they’re more confident, and it can cause us to question our abilities. I have this Conversation weekly with my students when they say, I’m brand new. I don’t know enough. I’m not enough. Well, I didn’t have my own fertility journey or I’m in the middle of my fertility journey and I haven’t finished it yet.

So how could I coach another person on something that I haven’t accomplished myself? And I’m here to tell you that that, none of that is true, you have so much ability as somebody who has a passion for fertility, or who is in the middle of a fertility journey, or who has completed it and has a baby or more.

You have the ability to lead somebody and guide them and coach them to get what you’re trying to get, even if you haven’t reached the finish line yet. So, number three, I said this earlier, perfectionism, striving to be perfect. You can’t make a mistake. You can’t have any shortcomings or you’re going to feel like a significant failure and that self doubt is just going to continue to, to show up in your life.

You also feel. Whenever you have a new challenge, every time you get a new client or patient, and this can bring uncertainties and it can make all of us question our capabilities. Especially, well there’s two pieces to this. The first piece is in sales. Every time you enroll somebody into a program, you feel amazing, and you’re so happy that you’re able to help these people and bring them into your program.

But then the next thought is, well, what if this was just a fluke? What if I’m not able to bring anybody else into my program? What if I’m not able to help my client get the results they’re after? And so, so many new challenges arise daily and weekly and monthly as you’re enrolling new clients and patients.

So how do we start to overcome self doubt and imposter syndrome?

Let’s dive into some strategies that I’ve used in my own business and strategies that I have seen work in other people’s businesses and in their lives. I want you to build confidence as a fertility coach and practitioner and these are the steps that you can use to get you there.

Step number one, acknowledge your feelings. This is the first step and it’s recognizing and accepting that self doubt and imposter syndrome are normal. You’re not alone. Many successful professionals experience these same feelings. Again, I experienced this still after 10 years, but I’ve learned these strategies and so it doesn’t affect me as much as it used to. And now that’s what I want for you.

Strategy number two, reflect on your achievements. Make a list of all your accomplishments, your qualifications, your positive feedback from clients, your client testimonials, and revisit this list anytime you feel self doubt start to pop in. I have a vision board that sits right in front of me when I’m at my desk.

And anytime I feel that twinge of self doubt, I’m not enough, maybe I’m about to do a presentation or a webinar, Or get on a discovery call and that little voice in the back of my head says, you’re a fraud. You don’t know enough. Who do you think you are? Who are you to help this person? But then I have to remind myself, I’m Dr. Kela, and I’ve spent a lot of time and a lot of energy perfecting my protocols, perfecting my craft, getting my qualifications, my degrees, I do know enough and I am enough. And so I have to remind myself that constantly when that self doubt pops in.

Strategy number three, seek support. Connect with other professionals and fertility coaches and practitioners that are in the same field as you. You can share experiences and challenges. And you can get a different perspective and get reassurance that you’re on the right track. Don’t hesitate to seek mentorship or coaching for yourself. Coaches need coaches. I’m constantly enrolling in programs that are going to better myself. Not just my education, which I do that a lot because I love to learn. I love to bring new protocols and strategies and new things to help support my clients and patients. But I also love to learn business from people who have done what I am trying to do, so don’t hesitate to seek support at the end.

I’ll talk about the program that I created at the Hormone Puzzle Society’s Educational Institute that will certify you as a fertility and hormones coach. This is an amazing program with 10 weeks of business and marketing training, six weeks of mindset and self development. It’s an amazing program, so seek support if that’s something that you feel you need. I feel everybody needs some sort of support and definitely a certification or to continue learning.

Strategy number four, commit to ongoing education and professional development. The more knowledge and the more skilled you are, the better and more confident you will become.

Strategy number five is practice self compassion. Treat yourself with kindness and understanding. Remember that it’s okay to make mistakes. And that perfectionism is not the goal for you or the client or patient. Focus on progress and growth. I love to say progress, not perfection. That’s such an amazing statement for you and for your clients and patients.

Strategy number six, set realistic goals. We’ve talked about block scheduling and this goes hand in hand with that. Break down your large goals into smaller, manageable steps. Celebrate each milestone, no matter how small it is. Build your confidence by the things that you’re completing and by the patients and clients that you’re helping to get the results that they’re after. Celebrate every win. I don’t care how small it is.

Strategy number seven is visualize your success. I do this so often. I imagine what it will look like Feel like, smell like, I embody what it will be to get the success that I’m after. Spend time visualizing your success, not only in building your business, but also in your coaching sessions.

I remember when I did my first coaching session, I was so nervous. I had imposter syndrome bad. I was so self conscious. I had my notes in front of me. I was so prepared, but then I was so scared that the person was going to ask me something that I didn’t know, or that I hadn’t studied, or that I hadn’t learned, and they were going to realize that I was a fraud, and that I was brand new, and I didn’t know what I was doing, and they were going to ask for their money back.

But you know what? That never happened. That has never happened in almost 10 years of business. Every person that I’ve worked with has been amazed at the amount of support and what I’ve been able to create with them. They’ve gotten so much success. They’ve created babies and businesses and all of this was because I wasn’t scared to put myself out there. And to share the knowledge that I did have with these clients and patients and students.

And number eight is affirmations and Positive self talk. I use affirmations all the time. You have to reinforce your belief and your abilities. And you have to train your brain to constantly remember this and to know this and to embody this.

Replace your negative self talk with positive and empowering statements.

I constantly say to myself, I am Dr. Kela. I almost as I’m putting on that outfit. It’s super cute and it has stilettos with it. So we’re just saying, but I put on that outfit. I’m Dr. Kela. I embody that. And this is what I want for you. Embody who you are as a coach, even if you’re brand new, or even if you’ve been at it for years. So now let’s talk about embracing your unique journey.

Remember, every coach is unique. Your path, your experiences, your perspectives, that is what makes you valuable to your potential clients. Somebody wants to hire me and they connect with me and they want to learn from me and be coached by me. That’s another person might connect with you. They might love your story and what you have to say and the way that you say it and the way that you articulate how you can help them. That is your person. The first person is my person. There’s plenty of people that need our help. So embrace your individual ability and trust that you have something special to offer and that you can help many people around the world.

Celebrate your success. Learn from your challenges and keep moving forward. Overcoming self doubt and imposter syndrome is a continuous process. But, with time and effort, you can build the confidence you need to be the best fertility coach that you can be.

So, in closing, I just want to say thank you for tuning in to today’s episode of the Hormone Puzzle Podcast. Whether you’re a seasoned coach or you’re just starting out, this episode is going to provide you with very valuable insights, which will help you to conduct an effective and impactful discovery call that will result in closed sales and new clients.

This is one of the most important skills that you can master as a fertility coach, because without clients, your business will not survive and there’s definitely an art to this and that’s what I hope to teach you here today.

These are the same strategies that I’ve used for over nine years in my business and I’ve built a successful multi six figure practice from scratch and I know sometimes discovery calls can be scary and it’s completely normal to be nervous and But just like any skill, with practice and polishing your technique, you will be doing discovery calls with ease in no time.

These calls are the foundation of building a successful coaching relationship with your potential clients. These initial conversations are not just about assessing potential clients, but they’re the opportunity for both of you, you and the client, to determine if you’re a right fit for each other.

And one of the main things that a discovery call does in the beginning is it establishes trust. The first call is going to set the tone for your entire relationship. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, there’s You can’t make a first impression twice, and that is so true. This is your chance to build rapport and trust and get that know, like, and trust factor so that you start on the right foot and it just continues with an amazing coaching relationship.

So on the call, some basic things you want to be thinking about is first you want to assess the needs of the potential client or patient. You want to understand your client’s unique situation, their challenges, their goals, and all of this information will help you to tailor your approach so that you can offer the best support possible.

You also want to set expectations at the beginning of the call. You want to clarify what your coaching involves and what this call is going to entail. You want really talk to the potential client about the commitment required and what a client can expect from working with you. And this will ensure that there’s no surprises down the road and everybody’s on the same page.

Even before the call, I will send a detailed intake form so I am prepped with information about the client even before the call begins. And I feel a potential client’s ability to fill out this form will show me how serious they are about meeting with me. I’ve even canceled calls before. If somebody doesn’t take time to fill out a form, my thoughts are if they can’t take five minutes to fill out a simple form, they’re probably not going to enroll in a 12 week coaching program that takes time, money, and effort.

And this is your choice. If you want to be strict like I am, and in the beginning, I know it’s easier to just let it slide when somebody doesn’t fill out the paperwork or do the things you asked them to do before getting on a call with you. However, as you grow and your time becomes more valuable, you really have to prioritize the people that are fully committed to transformation and to working with you.

And the commitment, I believe, starts with their ability to fill out an intake form. So during the call, I’m going to ask the potential client to share their story with me. And then I ask questions based on what I see on the intake form and what they tell me. I make sure to show them how my services can help them solve these problems that they’re telling me that they have.

Now, obviously, this is only true if the information you gather, you actually can help that person. But I go into the call knowing if I can help somebody or not, and I explain that to them as we’re on the call.

And you’re not going to be able to help everybody. And so that’s why it’s so important that you go in armed with the knowledge of what the person is struggling with, how long they’ve been struggling, their age, and all the factors that you need to make a choice as to whether you feel you can help this person or not.

And if you can’t, then have a plan in place for referring them to somebody, another practitioner that might be more suited to their needs. So as you start to think about discovery calls, the first piece of this is you really want to make sure you’re prepared.

So the first piece of this is research, and so I already kind of talked about a little bit, but use the intake form information that the potential client has provided to you, and make sure you spend some time, one, spend some time creating a great intake form, and two, Some of the questions that I have on my form are around age, location of the client, how long they’ve been trying to conceive, the conditions that they might have, their ability to enroll today if they find we’re a fit for each other, and really familiarize yourself with the case.

Before you get on the call so that you’re prepared and that you can show genuine interest in helping them to solve this very painful issue. The next thing is make sure that you create a comfortable environment. You want to be in a quiet, professional setting. You want it to be free from distractions, free from noise.

You want to show up on time and end on time. This all shows respect for the client’s time and it also helps you to stay focused. For my free discovery calls, calls that I do in the U. S., I do those over the phone. And for international calls, I do that over Zoom. For paid discovery calls, it’s always done over Zoom.

At the beginning of the call, I also will set an agenda. I want the potential client to feel that there’s a structure to my calls and they know exactly what’s going to happen and when. And typically, I’ll include an introduction briefly of myself. I will ask them a few get to know you questions. Where are you calling from?

How did you find me? And then I just ask them to share their story with me. And while they’re doing that, I’m actively listening so I can ask relevant questions. And when we finish our conversation, that’s when I explain my services, how they fit the potential clients needs. And then I also will do a short little question and answer session.

I try to keep my discovery calls with questions that pertain to my services, not necessarily just the free for all where the potential client can ask me anything, I always lead back to, that’s a great question, this is something I work with my clients and patients on, and if we decide to work together, we’ll, we’ll work on that.

You want to keep your calls short and to the point. I think I just said that, but just reiterating that. I usually try to stay under 30 minutes max. I find 20 to 30 minutes is a great time for a free discovery call. Now, if it is a paid call, I will usually do 30 to 45 minutes because that potential client is paying me for my time.

Now, my paid discovery calls are a lot more in depth. I actually had them fill out a 57 page. health history form and I look at all their lab tests before we have a call. So it’s a lot more in depth and so therefore they’re paying me for my time. But today, we are talking about free discovery calls. So I’m going to keep it around that topic. So now let’s talk about the actual call.

We’ve already kind of touched on these, but you want to start with a warm welcome. I always thank my client or my potential client for taking their time to have a call with me.

I make them feel comfortable and appreciated. A lot of times people come on these calls and they’re really nervous. So I just want to make them feel comfortable. I want them to feel like they’re just having a conversation. I ask a few rapport building questions again. Some of the things I’ll ask is where are you from?

How did you find me? What made you want to book a call with me? And then I ask open ended questions. I have the client share their story, but then I’ll ask questions like Can you tell me a little bit more about that? Tell me about your cycle. Tell me about your nutrition. Have you ever had functional lab tests? Tell me what your main goals and concerns are. Tell me about your partner’s health. Tell me about your sleep, your hydration. I really try to actively listen and pay close attention to their responses. I take really good notes. I want to make sure I acknowledge their feelings and their experiences. An active listening builds trust and demonstrates empathy.

So make sure that you are doing that, you know, appropriately. And then after I hear all of their, you know, the problems they’re struggling with, their pain points, what they’ve tried in the past, and once I have a clear understanding of this, I’ll explain how my coaching packages can help solve these issues.

I always highlight my unique approach. I talk about success stories. I talk about the benefits of working with me and my team. I also address concerns. I’m prepared to answer questions, especially when they’re hard questions. I pride myself on being transparent and honest, and those are key pieces to this budding relationship.

And then once I hear their story and I hear their concerns and I’ve asked all the questions that I need to formulate a plan and when I think I can actually help somebody, again, I go into the call kind of knowing this, but I just want to gather as much information as I can and, and if I feel they’re a good fit for my program, then I outline what working together would look like.

And I’ve done shows about how to package your programs in the past, I’m not going to get into detail with that here. Go back and listen to my other shows where I talk about packaging your programs. But I recommend that you have I would say no more than two programs. That’s what I do and I find that that’s easy for somebody to understand and it’s not too confusing.

A confused mind never buys. So the ones that I do are a labs only package which includes one call with me, plus a treatment plan,

The second package that I do is a 12 week intensive coaching package, which includes three of our most popular labs, plus a coaching, plus weekly coaching calls. It’s more intensive, it’s more support, it’s more customization. So really decide what works best for you and your niche. And the one caveat I have with all of this is make sure your programs are clear, concise, know how they’re different, how they can help the client, and what the pricing is.

Be able to just let that roll off your tongue and say it really easily so it makes it super easy for the person to make a decision and buy. And remember, your client is not buying a program or a package. They’re enrolling in a solution to their problem. People hire me to help them get pregnant, not to go through a 12 week program.

Or not to run lab tests. They want me to help them get pregnant. How we do that? That’s irrelevant. This is what they’re paying for – a baby at the end. So then at the end of the call, you want to outline the next steps. You want to outline the key points. Whether you schedule a follow up call or you send additional information. You want to make sure that they know what to do next. And so that’s where the follow up comes in.

The discovery call does not end when you hang up. You want to send a follow up email.

I try to do it within five to ten minutes of talking to the person unless I have another call right behind them. And then I’ll tell them on the phone, Hey, I’m going to send you a follow up email.

It’ll have everything that we just talked about. The packages, the pricing, how you can enroll. It’ll have a link for that. But I do have another call right after yours. So as soon as I get off of that call, At whatever time, you know, it is, I’ll give myself 30 extra minutes and I’ll say, I’ll send you this at three o’clock.

So give me a little bit of time. Let me do this next call and I’ll get that over to you by today. And they’re so thankful that you let them know that because then they’re not waiting for an email and then when it doesn’t come, they’re thinking, Okay, well, she said she was going to send this and it’s not here.

So again, whenever I send a recap email, I’ll thank the client for their time. I’ll briefly recap our discussion, then I’ll provide any additional information that they requested, and then I’ll outline my packages, my pricing, and a link to purchase. Super easy, very concise, so they know exactly what to do to move forward.

And this also will reinforce your professionalism and your commitment. Then after the call, you want to make sure that you write detailed notes and you outline those in your CRM. If you’re using a customer relationship management software, we use go high level. So whichever one you choose, I recommend that you do have something where you’re marking the call as you, you completed the call.

These are the notes about this person, what went well, what could have been improved. And then as you follow up with these people, you’ll have the notes, and so you can look back and say, I talked to Cindy about PCOS and she’d been trying to get pregnant for two years and she’s interested in one, one on one 12 week coaching program.

So then when you reach back out to her, I usually recommend one to two days after the call, you reach back out and say, Thank you so much for the call. I would love to work with you. What did you decide about working together? Did you want to move forward with our one on one package or whatever package she expressed interest in when you had the call?

And then that’s it! That is your discovery call. So mastering this skill and mastering the art of discovery calls is one of the most essential things that you can do to build a strong and robust business. It’ll allow you to build these know, like, and trust relationships. And by preparing thoroughly, conducting the call with empathy and professionalism, and following up efficiently, you’re setting the stage for a wonderful coaching practice.

Thank you for tuning in to today’s episode of the Hormone Puzzle Podcast.
In this episode of the Hormone P.U.Z.Z.L.E Podcast, I talked about the number one skill you need to have as a fertility coach and there are actually many skills that you need to have. So I’m going to talk about a few different ones here today. These skills are things that you’re going to need to develop to nurture and to become good in order to have a successful coaching practice.

And if you’re thinking about either becoming a coach or you have a practice, but you’re trying to grow and scale. I developed a fertility coach certification course, which you can learn about on my website, www.hormonepuzzlesociety.com/education. Again, this course was built out of my own personal need and what I saw that was lacking in the industry.

And in this course, it’s 40 weeks and I go through all of the pieces of my hormone puzzle method and show you how that works to help your clients get pregnant, stay pregnant, and eliminate their symptoms of hormone imbalance. But then I go really deep into different pieces of the fertility and hormone puzzle. I talk about the science behind fertility. I talk about different fertility acronyms and their definitions. Fertility conditions, both western and eastern. Modalities, medical treatments, and male fertility. Then I go into all the business pieces. How do you start your own practice? How do you build it? How do you do social media? How do you start doing an ebook? How do you make a course? How do you start a podcast? And then I go into the personal aspects. How do you stay organized? How do you develop your skills? How do you, nurture yourself while you’re coaching? So all of this is wrapped up into 40 weeks in a wonderful certification course.

So a couple of skills that I teach within that program is what we’re going to talk about today.

There are so many moving pieces in owning your own business, especially owning your own coaching business. So you need to make sure that you are very organized with your time. You’re very organized with your content. You’re organized with how you manage your clients, especially as you get busier and busier. You need to stay on top of being organized or you’ll start to feel overwhelmed. You’ll start to feel like you can’t do it, like it’s too much.

So staying organized is probably one of the biggest skills that you can have as a fertility coach or as a coach in general. A couple of ways that I recommend you stay organized is one, you learn how to block schedule. And this means you look at your calendar and you say, I want to work these hours.

And so for me, I work 730am to 4pm Monday through Friday, those are my business hours. And so within that time frame, I block each hour of every day. And so I say, Monday from 8 to 9 I’m doing this, from 9 and so on. And so that way my day is very organized, so I know exactly what I need to complete each day.

Obviously, my client calls come first, so I have all of those mapped out on my schedule each week. Then next comes potential client calls and then podcast recordings, video recordings, social media posts. All of these things that I need to do in my business, I have it all blocked and mapped out on my calendar. I also make sure that I map out my self care. What is also on my calendar is my bi-weekly spin classes, when I go to the gym and lift weights, when I even walk my dog. Like, it’s all mapped out. It’s ready to go. It keeps me super organized and less overwhelmed because I know exactly what I’m supposed to be doing each day and each hour. And I know that… The things that I need to be getting done are getting done because it’s all organized in a really easy-to-follow fashion.

And I know in the beginning, this can be hard. It’s really easy to want to take every client that comes your way.
And that’s okay in the beginning, but you have to have some boundaries in place. For me, that means I don’t coach in the evenings, I don’t coach on the weekends. Those are the times that I have reserved for my family, and I’m really strict with those boundaries. And so if a client wants to coach during those times, I as nicely as possible say that I don’t, just don’t have that time available.

I do have some junior coaches through my certification program who work under me. And so sometimes I’ll pass those clients to those people. But if you’re just getting started, you want to think about boundaries now. Because this will kind of guide you throughout your whole coaching business.

So be really careful with keeping those strong boundaries. There are so many moving parts within your coaching business. Having a strong schedule. Really being organized. Sticking to those boundaries, those are going to be really important as you grow and as you scale.

The next important skill that you need to have as a fertility coach is you want to learn how to develop your know, like, and trust factors.

And this is something that you’re going to need to have as clients get to know you, as potential clients get to know you. As you’re on social media, as you’re in your local community, when you’re doing talks or when you’re doing certain seminars, or you’re a guest on podcasts.

You want to make sure that you’re getting that know, like and trust factor established and you’re nurturing your potential leads. So a couple of things on how I’ve been able to do that is I try to give more than I received. I try to give a lot of free content, a lot of free information, free guidebooks, free recipes, free question-and-answer sessions with me.

I do a Facebook live and an Instagram live at least weekly. I want to make sure that I’m giving away a lot of free stuff because I want to help as many people as I possibly can. I think the last statistic that I saw was there are 43 million people in the world struggling with infertility. And so I want to help as many people as possible through my platform. And so I give away a lot of stuff for free. So I just want to make sure that my clients, my potential clients are nurtured. That they feel loved and that they’re helped by the information that I provide, whether they’re working with me individually or not.

So that’s one way that I nurture and, and that builds my know, like, and trust. People get to know me because they see me on a regular basis and they learn from me. Hopefully what I provide is helping them. And then. When they’re ready, if they’re ready to hire me, I hope that if they think of a fertility coach, I would hope they would think of me first.

The other thing is just showing that you care, you know, like, again, I give away so much for free. If somebody reaches out to me on social media and asks me a question, I try to reply pretty quickly. I try to always offer free calls. I just try to be there. I try to show that I’m there because I am there. I want people to know, like, and trust me. And so I find that the more I can build that relationship, the more my potential clients will want to work with me and I’ll want to work with them.

I’m a big fan of the Law of Attraction. I’m a big fan of putting out into the universe what you want to happen and having it come to fruition. And so that includes as I’ve built my practice, I believe that I was put on this earth to do this.

I believe in God. And so no matter what you believe in. Most people believe in a higher power, whether it’s God or Buddha or Hindu or whatever it is. I believe in God and I believe God put me on this earth to do what I’m doing. And so I constantly put it out there that I want the people that need my help the most to find me and to come to me and to work with me. And I’ve done that throughout my whole business, my whole career in health and wellness for over 20 years. I’ve constantly put into the universe and prayed to God to please send me the clients that need my help the most. Please allow these people to find me and to have the means to work with me. And that’s what has happened. My practice has grown very quickly. My clients have seen amazing results and it’s all because I believe in them. I believe in myself and I put it out into the universe and to God that this is what I want to happen. And then it does. And I know that might sound a little woo-woo to some of you, but it is so very true. I’ve seen it work time and time again in my life, in my client’s lives, in my family’s life, and it works. So putting out into the universe, what you want, having a positive mindset, believing in yourself and what you can create in the world and how you can help others are some of the most amazing skills that I think you need to develop as a coach, a potential coach, or just a wonderful, well-rounded person in general.

So to go back, the main skills that you need to have as a fertility coach or as a potential coach are:

Get really organized and practice block scheduling

Make sure that you have strong boundaries in place

Start to develop your know, like, and trust factor. Give more than you receive. Show that you care.
Nurture your potential clients.

Believe in yourself and have a positive mindset. Believe in the universe and the law of attraction. Know what you put out there will come back to you.

So those are my tips for having a very successful coaching business. So thank you guys for listening. I can’t wait to see you in the next episode.

If you’re curious, if the Fertility Coach certification is right for you, then please go to my website, www.hormonepuzzlesociety.com/education and book a call with me.
So what is a fertility coach?

A fertility coach is a coach that works with a woman/couple that is struggling with infertility. Maybe they’re working with a couple or working with the woman/man individually. The goal is to help them on their journey to getting pregnant. Whether that’s naturally or through assisted reproductive technology (ART). You give them all the pieces that they need in order to boost their fertility naturally so their body is in an optimal state to conceive. There are different types of fertility coaches. Some coaches decide to go in a little deeper with nutrition. Some go deeper into mindset. Some are more focused on the environment.

In my practice, I developed my Hormone PU.Z.Z.L.E method. I focus on all of it to help boost fertility naturally or to improve my client’s ART outcomes. So depending on what kind of coach they are, depends on kind of how their practice is structured.

The other piece of being a fertility coach is the accountability and the support piece. As a coach, I am holding my client’s hands and supporting them through this journey. I am an unbiased third party that is there for them during this hard and tumultuous journey, a shoulder to cry on, I’m a cheerleader, I’m their support. In many cases, I find that women just don’t have this. This was the entire reason I started my practice. During my darkest days of infertility, I didn’t feel like I got support from my doctors because most of the practitioners that I was working with had not been where I was. Therefore they couldn’t speak first hand with me about the crazy ride I was on. Including the struggles that I was having, the frustrations and sadness that I was feeling. So that’s what we as fertility coaches do. It’s all very important.

What do I do in my day-to-day business?

I am a full-time fertility coach. I treat my business as such so I have dedicated office hours. I’m in my office from 7:30am to 4pm Monday through Friday. During those hours I’m either seeing clients, doing a podcast (either mine or somebody else’s), working on a summit, doing lives in my Facebook groups, doing posts for Instagram, researching different fertility treatments or different things that I’m wanting to learn about to benefit my clients. Those are some of the things that I do in my day-to-day life. It’s all such a passion of mine so I don’t really even feel like it’s work. I look forward to coming into my office every day – working with these wonderful clients and learning as much as I can.

Some coaches choose to just be part-time so they block out certain hours knowing what they’re gonna do and how they’re gonna work. If you’re a coach or if you’re thinking about being a coach you can really structure your business however you want.

I definitely encourage you to structure your day so you’re not just flying by the seat of your pants. You have a set schedule and you are working in your business certain hours and completing specific projects. I even take that a step further – I block schedule my entire day. I dedicate certain hours to certain projects. From 7:30 am to 8:00 I am answering emails. From 9 am to 12noon, I’m talking with clients in private consultations and private calls. From 1 pm to 2 pm, I am doing discovery calls. I really break my day into certain things that I do on a regular basis. I definitely have a structure to things and so for you if you’re a coach or if you’re thinking about being a coach then I would suggest that you structure your day. Block schedule and decide how much time you want to spend in your practice and then you do that on a regular basis. I also have tasks that I schedule out weekly so there are certain things that I have to do every week like writing my newsletter, writing my blog, doing my podcast recordings, editing my podcast (even though my VA helps me a lot with that) I make sure that I’m learning. There are also certain things that I do on certain days so I definitely block schedule all of that so it doesn’t get missed.

How do I get my clients?

Being visible being on social media! And it’s not like I spend all day every day on social media. I’m definitely visible and I am nurturing people on social media. I’m talking with them and I’m reaching out to see if I can help. I always try to come from a place of love and of giving. So I’m constantly sharing my knowledge on how I can help couples get pregnant.

Even though a lot of my clients come through social media, I am huge on collaborations, I do a lot of them with different practitioners and people with podcasts in my niche’ as well as through summits and guest blogging. I make sure I’m really active in that way. It is also a great way to meet really cool experts and it also helps me to get my name out there and connect with potential clients in their audience. I also get a lot of clients locally. I’m very involved in my local Community, which my local chamber of Commerce in Nashville. I also try to stay connected to local practitioners as well as virtual.

Where do you start if you’re thinking about starting your practice?

The first thing I would say is just research what your options are. And get more education if you’re brand new. Maybe you have your own fertility story and you’ve thought about going into Fertility Coaching, research some Fertility Coaching Schools. You may want to check out The Hormone Puzzle Society (shameless plug!) We offer a fertility/hormone coaching certification so if you’re thinking about becoming a Fertility Coach definitely look into our certification program. It’s very comprehensive with 40 weeks of content teaching you all you need to know about how to become a fertility coach, education on the menstrual cycle and the science of fertility, and all the things you need to know to start your practice. So definitely look there. There are also many other wonderful health coaching schools that teach you about Fertility Coaching so I would say just do some research and find the one that works for you.

I would also start thinking about your Niche. Obviously, you’re thinking about being a fertility coach but you can also niche yourself down from that. Maybe you want to be an IVF coach because you’re going through IVF. Maybe you want to be a natural fertility coach because you went through natural fertility. Maybe you don’t quite know yet so that would be another place where you need to research.

To summarize, my two suggestions are to figure out where you can further your education and then figure out where you want to niche yourself and what clients you want to speak to.

You can get the 6 Steps Business Building Puzzle Blueprint for FREE by sending me an email at podcast@hormonepuzzlesociety.com.
